  • Buy Online and Go to the Front of the Line!: When you buy State Theatre tickets online, you can go straight to the head of the line at our sidewalk-side WILL CALL box office window to pick them up. Fast, easy, convenient!
  • How to Order State Theatre Tickets Online: Click here and select the date of your chosen film from the drop-down box. Then click on your chosen show time. (If your show time is not highlighted, online ticketing is not available for that screening.)
  • A new window will pop up. Select the number and type of tickets you’d like to purchase. (You can only purchase tickets to one show per transaction.) Click Continue.
  • Confirm that the ticket information is correct, and then complete the payment information. When done, click Purchase Tickets.
  • Your order is complete when you see a bar code like this.
  • Picking Up Tickets Ordered Online or Over the Phone: If you ordered online, bring any ONE of the following directly to the WILL CALL window: 1) a print out of the confirmation with bar code; 2) the credit card used to purchase your tickets; OR 3) the confirmation number shown on the bar code confirmation. If ordered over the phone, bring identification. Come directly to the window designated “Will Call.” You do not have to stand in the ticket purchaser line.

  • Regular Admission Prices: $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors 65 and over, and $6 for students and kids 12 and under. Matinee prices are $6.00. All Access members get in free. Premium and Basic members are $6.00. Senior Basic members are $5.00. Wednesday and Saturday matinees before noon are just 25 cents. Special event prices are listed separately.
  • 25 Cent Specials: Admission at the Wednesday and Saturday morning matinees before noon is 25 cents — the same price the State (then called the Lyric Theater) charged when it opened in 1916.
  • Tuesday is free popcorn day! Patrons may get a free small popcorn when attending a movie at the State on Tuesdays.
  • Box Office Hours: Open one hour before the first show of the day until approximately 9 pm.
  • The Small Print: All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges. Except in cases of reserved seating events, seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Events may not have been rated. Viewer discretion is advised.
  • Free Events: Tickets to free movies and events cannot be “purchased” online; free event links will not be active, and free pass options will not be listed. Visit the box office or call 231-947-3446 for help. Please arrive AT LEAST 15 minutes before showtime to guarantee your free seat.

  • How to Order Opera Tickets Online: Click HERE to order tickets and use these instructions: Select the date of the opera you would like to attend from the drop down list. Then click on the time listed below the opera name to launch a new window that will allow you to complete your purchase.
  • One Opera at a Time: Unfortunately, opera tickets may only be purchased one opera at a time online. Please purchase tickets to the first opera, then go back to the beginning and purchase tickets for the next opera.
  • Important: If you require wheelchair, mobility, or companion seating, please call Box Office manager Judy Trentham at 231-944-3040.
  • Reserved Seating: Thanks to some very generous sponsors, we have reserved seating again for this season’s operas. Click HERE to view the seating chart. When you purchase tickets online, the balcony will not be indicated as such, so please refer to this chart for details you will need.
  • Opera Ticket Prices: Ticket prices are $26 for adults, $24 for State Theatre and Met Opera Members, $22 for Seniors 65 and over, and $18 for Children and Students.
  • Picking Up Tickets Ordered Online or Over the Phone: If you ordered online, bring your order number found on the order confirmation page or the credit card used to purchase your tickets. If ordered over the phone, bring identification. When you come to the box office to pick up tickets ordered online or over the phone, please come to the window designated “Will Call.” You do not have to stand in the ticket purchaser line.
