Membership

Members are the backbone of the State Theatre. Memberships bring great perks and discounts every time you visit the State, and at the same time Members help our volunteer-run, mission-driven, non-profit theater continue to offer reasonably priced concessions, educational programs, 25 cent matinees twice a week, and free community events year-round.

Since we opened five years ago, we have brought an average of 365 different films a year to downtown Traverse City. From silent films with live organ accompaniment to the latest edgy midnight film, we bring the best programming we can find to audiences of all ages. Part of our mission is to bring students into the theater as often as we can, and we host free screenings for kids from preschool to high school. Our Members make all of this possible.

State members receive electronic swipe cards printed with their name, membership level and expiration date. Members present their card at the box office when purchasing or picking up tickets. Please allow 5 business days for membership card processing — your membership card will be mailed to you unless you email or call 231-947-3446 to request otherwise.

Note that you can enjoy your member benefits while you wait for your card — just let the volunteers in the box office know that you’re waiting for your card, and you can use your benefits immediately.

All-Access Annual Membership, Couple (SPECIAL PRICE: $300 – Save $200 off the normal $500 cost, good through January 15, 2013!)

  • Free Admission to movies on the FIRST THURSDAY of each month.
  • Admission to all regular first-run movies is $6.00, or $5.00 for seniors ($2.00 off regular adult admission).
  • $1.00 off normal matinee admission.
  • Admission to members only events.
  • Early ticket availability to select special events.
  • Weekly State Theatre enewsletter.
